Welcome to the world of the Fuccon Family, aka OH! Mikey, a bizarre and amazing "mannequin drama" that has taken Japan by storm. Based on a popular independent film shown on late-night Japanese television, OH! Mikey is the bizarre and hilarious story of the Fuccon family, who have come from America to live in Japan, despite the fact that they are mannequins.
All 78 episodes of the show are available on a total of six DVDs (vol. 6 was released Dec 2004). The show was broadcast on Tokyo Broadcasting System (TBS) as part of the popular variety show Vermillion Pleasure Night. The Vermillion Pleasure Night DVDs are also available, and feature the pilot "Mikey" episodes as well as various other wacky late-night Japanese television.
A fantastic and hilarious parody of foreigners living in Japan, the DVDs are fully subtitled in English, so you can enjoy the wacky adventures of Mikey, his mother Barbara, handsome father James, cousin Laura, Mikey's girlfriend Emily and all the rest, even if you're Japanese-impaired. Featuring bizarre and hilarious skits such as "One Point English Lesson" (an over-sexed teacher gives you useful English lessons), "Midnight Cooking" (a hilarious cooking show), Zombie Family (the life-and-times of a family of zombies) and Juvenile Delinquent Takako, the story of a headstrong human girl trapped in a OH! Mikey-like world of mannequins. You also get a complete alternate telling of the OH! MIkey stories. All discs are subtitled in English so you can enjoy them even if you don't understand Japanese!
